Chapel End Cottage offers peaceful, comfortable, reasonably-priced accommodation right on the edge of Dartmoor but close to civilisation. Forda is a hamlet of only six houses on a very quiet lane just 200 yards from the moor and the Granite Way so itโ€™s perfect for walkers and cyclists. Although it looks and feels like the depths of the Devon countryside, the A30 is just a mile away making it easy to get here from anywhere in the country and taking you into Cornwall in just a few minutes. The cottage is part of a converted chapel built around 1850 and has kept many of the original features such as the wooden floors and exposed timber roof struts upstairs and the large chapel windows that span both floors.
Upstairs is one double and one twin room along with a bathroom with optional cute LED lighting. Downstairs is a light, sunny sitting room with window seats and 32โ€ digital TV. The modern kitchen has a fridge freezer, washing machine, double oven with ceramic hob, microwave, and filter coffee machine.
The single storey part of the house was once the old school room. This has its own hobbit-style front door and open fireplace. There is a dining table and a double sofa bed. A distinctly non-hobbit-style en suite with large deluge shower adjoins this room.
Outside, there is an enclosed dog-proof terrace with a picnic table, which gets the afternoon and evening sun.
