The main Paignton Sands is all easy promenades and gentle paddling, while just to the south Goodrington Sands stretches along the coast in two halves, backed by green space and the South West Coast Path heading on towards Brixham. The North end of Goodrington welcomes dogs all year round, and the green at Paignton has a dedicated dog exercise area, with the coast path linking quieter stretches beyond. Many beaches operate seasonal dog restrictions through the summer, with dog-friendly stretches nearby and year-round access on others, so a quick check before you set off pays off. With plenty of holiday homes close to the front, Paignton makes a cheerful, easygoing seaside base for the whole bay.
